Pay as you exit to leave downtown faster
On most express routes, pay your fare at the end of outbound trips.
Routes marked with this symbol are Pay Exit routes.
Pay Exit routes are express buses leaving downtown Minneapolis, downtown St. Paul or the University of Minnesota. For faster boarding, fares are collected at the end of these trips. The time you exit the bus determines the fare amount.
Here's how it works:
- On trips entering the downtown area or the University of Minnesota campus, pay your fare as you board.
- On Pay Exit routes leaving either downtown or the U of M, the driver will open the front and back doors to allow customers to board more quickly.
- Don't worry about paying your fare until you reach your destination. When you arrive, make your way to the farebox/Go-To Card reader.
